Why Study The Arts?
The Arts teach students a variety of specific theories and skills related to each discipline that challenge them intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. Essential to all the Arts is the development of Theoretical Knowledge, Technical Proficiency and Creative Process.
The Arts also teach students essential skills that will support students in all their classes as well as in future endeavours.
At least one Arts credit (drama, music or visual art) is required for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. These courses may be taken in grade 9, or there are many additional options in grade 10 or beyond.
