Dear Parents/Guardians,

We’re excited to let you know about the upcoming WCDSB Student Census, which will take place from March 19 to March 26, 2025.

The Student Census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12. It helps us learn more about our students’ diverse identities, backgrounds, and school experiences. This information is important as it helps us work toward creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone at WCDSB.

Students will complete the census with their teacher during class time. Participation is completely voluntary. Students can choose not to participate, stop at any time, or skip any question. Parents/guardians of students under 18 can also choose to opt their child out of the survey if they prefer. *

If you’d like to learn more about the census, you can read the full Notice of Collection here: https://www.wcdsb.ca/student-census/.
You can also review the results from our last Student Census on our website.

For those who wish to opt out, the window to do so is from February 4 to March 5, 2025.
You’ll find the opt-out instructions on the Student Census Notice of Collection here: https://www.wcdsb.ca/student-census/.

We look forward to sharing the results with you once they’re available. Thank you for your support in helping us better understand and support our students!

If you have questions about the information collected on the census, please contact the Superintendent of Learning and Equity, 35 Weber St. W., Kitchener, ON, 519-578-3660 or research@wcdsb.ca.
