Sheltering Hearts: A Home for Everyone Fundraiser
From November 1 – November 30, 2023, all schools within the Waterloo Catholic District are invited to raise funds to help battle homelessness in the region, as part of our Sheltering Hearts: A Home for Everyone fundraiser. Tiny homes have been placed on each of our secondary school properties, giving students the opportunity to visualize the cause that they are raising money for.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to A Better Tent City (Kitchener-Waterloo) and The Bridges (Cambridge). Donations are made easy through a QR code (see below), Parents/guardians, students, and school faculty/staff who are interested in donating can scan the QR code and be taken directly to SchoolCash Online (SCO), where they can select which of the two organizations (A Better Tent City, or Bridges) they wish to donate to and can request a tax receipt for donations over $50.00.

WCDSB chromebooks – return, or keep for the next academic year?
Graduating Gr. 12 students and Gr. 9-12 students NOT returning to St. Mary’s next school year who were loaned a WCDSB chromebook are to return their chromebook and its charging cord to the Main Office between Monday, June 19 and Tuesday, June 27. NOTE: This does NOT include SEA devices issued by the Assistive Technology Office.
Students returning to St. Mary’s for the 2023- 2024 school year can keep their assigned chromebook over the summer.
If a student is graduating but taking a summer course, please email Ms. VanderHeide, School Librarian (Christine.vanderheide@wcdsb.ca) to notify her of this and to arrange return of the device when the course is finished.
If a school-assigned chromebook is damaged or not working, please bring it to Ms. VanderHeide’s office in the library so she can send the damaged device for repair as soon as possible.
